Kanha National Park was located in two districts of Madhya Pradesh which are Balaghat and Mandla. It is one of the largest national parks in central India with area of 940km2. The park was designed in 1955 and converted into tiger reserve in 1973. The Kanha national park is one of the known tiger reserve in India.

The National park is famous for having large number of carnivorous and herbivorous animals. It is famous for having a large number of royal tiger, leopards, sloth bear, Indian wild dog and barasingha.
The kanha National park is officially first park to introduce barasingha (swamp dear).
The flora of national park is mostly of mixed deciduous forest. The forest is the mixture of Sal forest and Bamboo. The prominent trees found here are Sal, Lendia, Mango, teak, Bija, Banyan etc.
The kanha is famous for having various types of animals. The prominent fauna of national park are Royal tiger, leopards, Indian dogs, Sloth bear, Jungle cat, Blue bull, Hyena.

The park is open for jungle safari during the time period from16th October to 30th June. The best time to do a jungle safari is during the winter season. The safari is available for tourist in two shifts – the morning shift and evening shift. In safari ride 6-seater open jeeps are made available for visitors in which 6 passengers are allowed out of which one is naturalist (guide) and a driver.
